Undesignated support, referred to as “Annual Fund” dollars,
is one of the most important fund-raising priorities for the university,
as UNLV has few other sources of flexible funding. Annual Fund contributions
are the university’s “venture capital,” and they
allow UNLV to act quickly to address campus needs, take advantage of
special opportunities, and support administrative costs related to
raising private funds for the university.
Annual Fund
The UNLV Foundation raises the Annual Fund from alumni, friends, and
corporations in several ways, including the Rebel
Ring Phonathon, direct-mail appeals, and membership in our three
leadership gift club societies: President’s Associates, President’s
Inner Circle, and Academic Corporate
Council. Every year, Annual Fund donors generously contribute
more than $1 million, which UNLV uses to respond to academic and
campus needs.
College
and Program Giving
In addition, the Dean’s Associates and the Student Life Associates
programs encourage a broad base of annual, unrestricted resources for
the individual colleges and programs at UNLV. The dean of each college,
the dean of libraries, and the vice president for student life use
the funds for innovative academic opportunities, including scholarships;
fellowships; professorships; and support for research, teaching, and
service.
