UNLV Foundation University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Leadership

American anthropologist Margaret Mead summarized the essence of volunteerism: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”

UNLV relies on hundreds of volunteers to advocate for and advance the university’s mission. Some mentor students, some cheer athletes, and others work behind the scenes. There is a committed group of 60 community volunteers who have undertaken one of the most challenging tasks in the life of a public university: to raise private funds.

The UNLV Foundation Board of Trustees generously supports the university in many ways as it provides important links between the campus and the community to help us raise and manage millions of private dollars each year through Annual Giving programs, scholarships, major gifts, and estate gifts. All serve on the Board of Trustees without compensation because of their dedication to UNLV and its mission of research, teaching, and community service.
